9 months and counting . . .

I won't start with, "sorry it's been so long since I've updated," because that's just getting old! So I'll get right to it . . . I had my 9-month check this past Monday and things still look good! My CA-125 blood test is normal and stable and Dr. Salmieri felt nothing during the exam. I'm good to go for another 3 months. He said after the first year of being cancer-free, I get to graduate to 4-month checks. Then comes 6-month checks which I'll have probably for the rest of my life. Fine by me!
More importantly, though, I got my first haircut since I buzzed it one year ago! It had been growing freely since February, and had gotten into a pretty big mess. The top and sides were still short (but long to me!) and the back was growing down my neck. I could almost pull it into a tiny little ponytail if I had some of those elastics they used to use on braces! As exciting as this new "style" was to me, I became nervous that it was turning into a "mullet". So, not wanting to start a new trend of retro 80's or anything, I made the hair appt. My beloved stylist, Paaj (pronounced Pong), of Paaj's Hair Salon in Buford (not so shameless plug there!) did the deed and sliced off the mullet tail! I was not sad to see it go. Now I'm back to a cold neck, but I look much better! As my late grandmother used to say, "You can't be comfortable and beautiful at the same time!" Don't we all agree with that!
Let's see, what else . . . girls are doing good . . . John is taking a job this winter teaching golf . . . JoJo is calming down . . . Chloe is easing up on him . . . but not much . . . never did catch the squirrel . . . and, oh yeah, I'm trying to sell photo cards for Christmas this year. You can take a look at my designs to the left on this page, or at www.picasaweb.google.com/young1710. I have always done digital stuff for my own Christmas cards and birthday invitations and scrapbook pages. Now I'm taking a leap at making a profit from it! I'm selling cards for $1.00 each. All you have to do is email me your photo after you pick out a design. I will insert it into the layout and send you a proof. Once you give the okay, I print them at a professional photo lab and they get mailed right to you! Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!!! If I could, I would love to do this kind of graphic design full-time. Who knows? Maybe these Christmas cards will be the beginning of something big!
So that's it for now! Hope everyone reading is doing well and feeling happy!
